Buenos Aires, December 15 (NA) – The City of Buenos Aires will add about 162 firefighters to combat fires and other emergencies in the city's neighborhoods. Official sources informed the Argentine News Agency that the graduation ceremony for the IX Promotion of Aspirants took place at the Higher Institute of Public Education, where Head of Government Jorge Macri stated: "This corps of firefighters is a source of pride for all porteños". This year, the Buenos Aires Fire Department acquired 340 structural suits made from flame-retardant and heat, traction, and tear-resistant materials, as well as 125 helmets and an emergency simulator. Macri was accompanied by the Head of Cabinet, Gabriel Sánchez Zinny; the Minister of Security for Buenos Aires, Horacio Giménez; the Secretary of Security, Maximiliano Piñeiro; and the Chief of the Fire Department, Juan Carlos Moriconi. "Risking your life to save another, with no margin for error, in a hostile environment and dangerous scenarios where every second counts, is part of a firefighter's commitment," highlighted Jorge Macri in his speech.
